Getting started

Do I need an account?

No, and there is not one to make. Download the app and it works. No email, no password, no verification step standing between you and using the thing.

How long does setup take?

About two minutes. You create a few projects, give each one a color, and that is the configuration finished. There is no onboarding questionnaire and no method to learn first.

Is it really free?

Yes. The free tier includes the timeline, the timer, the inbox, repeat tasks, and up to three color coded projects plus one routine. There is no countdown and no card required. Details are on the pricing page.

How it works

What makes this different from a calendar?

A calendar is built for appointments, things other people scheduled with you. Cadencia is built for your own work, which needs a duration and a slot but does not have a fixed time attached, plus an inbox for the things that have neither yet.

What if my day falls apart by ten?

Then you drag things down and carry on. Nothing marks the day as failed, nothing resets, and there is no streak to lose. Rearranging is the normal way to use it rather than a recovery mode.

Can I use it if I am autistic rather than ADHD?

Plenty of people do. The predictability of a fixed visual layout tends to be the part that helps most, rather than the flexibility. The visual planning guide has a section on how the approach differs for autistic and AuDHD adults.

Do I have to schedule everything?

No. Anything without a time lives in the inbox until you decide it is happening. Forcing a time onto every thought is how planning systems start leaking tasks, so capture stays separate from scheduling.

Privacy and data

Where are my tasks stored?

On your device. There is no account because there is no server holding your data, which also means there is no database of your tasks for anyone to breach or sell.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Your data is included in your normal device backup, so restoring a backup restores Cadencia with it. This is the honest trade off of not having accounts, and it is worth knowing before you rely on it.

Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Limits worth knowing

Is there an Android version?

No. Cadencia is iPhone only, and there is no date to give you.

Does it sync with my calendar?

Yes, with Apple Calendar, and it is a Pro feature. Tasks go to your calendar and your calendar events appear on the timeline. A task breakdown engine and an energy tracker are still in development, so please do not buy Pro expecting those.

Is there a web or desktop version?

Not currently. Cadencia is designed for the device you actually have with you when the day changes.

Can I share a plan with someone else?

No. Cadencia is single user by design, and collaboration is not on the roadmap.
